alexdKel There is something so uniquely dynamic, colourful and delicious about this debut album from Son. Playful story-telling lyrics, warm vocals, off-kilter grooves and tons of unexpected melodic surprises to the ears that take you on a 30min trip full of switches in mood from cute and daydreamy to cheerful yet nostalgic and so on and so on!!

Potatoes 03:11
We walk on different paths so why do I feel so close to you? I know you feel the same, I know Not long ago I saw a thing I'd never seen before Lying there without a care You were so bright, shining through the daylight and right on me So there I was standing there, absorbing in your grocery-y goodness Days pass, I like potatoes like elvis did his suede shoes Do you like me back? Oh, who knows? Days pass, I like potatoes You're all that I want That I swear The one I adore My potato I have seen it all I don't care The one I adore My potato

Singapore 03:05
-"Hey you! What's with all the rain clouds hanging out above your head? I guess you don't even notice.." -"I drove for hours and I might have gone too far..I saw your neon sign so here I am now." -"You always look for something better when things don't go your way. Fear is just a passing feeling! In time, you'll find a home." "Don't rest in this moment, one more day is gone! Hold your glories dear, they will guide you forward!"
3.
Supermarket 04:10
I saw a thousand eggs one million cucumbers And I stand in awe feeling so small Smoked salmon, strawberries from fields and from the seas And I stand in awe feeling so small Free samples of blue cheese "There's more!" she says to me and I stand in awe feeling so Enchanted by all this wealth my sense of self has been lost for a while now The room has begun to change into random shapes I've never seen before Traverse the isles I have walked miles inside this place I'm feeling safe And still I haven't found the thing I need to claim I want to stay And suddenly I see a light The glow, oh god, it warms my heart I look again I don't believe my eyes She's there, emitting light She looks like a pulsar I cannot begin to comprehend No I can't I climbed above the skies to see with my two eyes how she glows so bright melting my guise And so with all her grace she shines upon my face and I am numb

Interstellar 04:36
I fell through time I must rewind I have to go back again Back to the place where I belong Redress Reset
5.
Final Flash 03:45
My eyes are heavy and tired from working too much in the sun My hands are dirty and they're aching from working too much in the sun

Rickon 03:28
He's up, for us I can't strip him of his drive to bring us both back in the times we lived in It's odd, I guess I don't know how I felt when I saw my friend after these years of drifting We hugged and kissed and blamed ourselves but all those thingies left aside there was a sour feeling He said "Ol’ Peter, why can't you bring joy on your face?" Even I don't know how to answer
8.
Carwash 04:58
I stumbled on a picture of my car Taken a while back when we used to be friends Do you remember? It looked so shiny, brand new "What a shame" Now it lurks in my basement, in plague and dirt So I had to do something, something new to wash away the sin that clouds my day A storm of soap and other things (is nearing) to wash away the mess that I have made A soapstorm

about

Son was (probably) born around 2005, when we (Andrew and Chris), decided to lay off playing Neverwinter Nights on our computers and picked up our very first electric guitars.

In the winter of 2017 and while going through a long, long period of room projects and basement jams, we figured it was time for something more drastic; we reached out and found new friends in Nick and Stefanos, ultimately leading to the (actual) creation of Son.

Singing a song about potatoes, we arrived at the conception of a fictional character by the name of Peter Flatface, who's story was somehow a perfect reflection of our journey so far.

And thus, after yet another not-as-long period of searching, experimenting and also a member swap - with the band parting ways with bassist Nick and welcoming Eddie to our group - we proudly present "A Storm Of Soap And Other Things"; an album about friendship, self-reflection and, inevitably, the life of Peter Flatface.
